Stig Andvord (born 19 May 1963) is a Norwegian former sports shooter. He was born in Løren. He represented the sports club Løren IL. He competed in the men's 25 metre rapid fire pistol event at the 1992 Summer Olympics.

The human spine, which is comprised of 24 separate vertebrae, supports the trunk and allows the body to stand erect. The spinal column is the main axis of the body, and is comprised of hollow vertebrae, or “bodies”, which are separated from each other by fibrous joints and ligaments. The vertebrae provide protection to the spinal cord and nerve roots. They also form the container of the spinal canal, which is the main conduit for the flow of the cerebrospinal fluid to and from the brain. The spinal cord and nerve roots pass through the spinal canal, which is formed from an opening in the base of each vertebra. The openings in the vertebrae are called the vertebral foramina.
The spinal cord and nerve roots are not exposed to the exterior of the vertebrae and spinal canal, and thus are not visible to the naked eye. The spinal cord is comprised of the spinal column, the spinal cord proper, and the conus medullaris. The conus medullaris is a medullary portion of the spinal cord located just below the level of the spinal cord proper and above the level of the cauda equina. It is the location of the inferior root and terminal nerve of the conus. The spinal cord proper is a gray matter portion of the spinal cord that is comprised of white matter and gray matter. It is comprised of the dorsal column and ventral column. The spinal cord proper and conus medullaris are enclosed by the dura mater and cerebrospinal fluid.
